An investigation was made concerning the botanical affinities of various samples of "Palmwood" found in diluvial sands in the eastern Netherlands. They appeared to belong to 5 species, 4 of which, Palmoxylon porosum, P. variabile, P. pachyoxylon and Rhizopalmoxylon pilosum were true palms and one,Palmoxylon eibergense showed affinity to Bromeliaceophyllum rhenanum. In addition a description is given of a small piece of Tempskya, possibly T. schimperi. It is not possible to determine with certainty the age and geographic origin of these materials.
