In this paper, the last of a series of three articles by the present author on Martinus van Marum (1750-1837), the latter's activities in collecting fossils and minerals as Director of Teyler's Museum at Haarlem are discussed on the basis of the diaries of his journeys to Germany, Switzerland, and Paris.
