The plucking of material from the subsoil by the ice sheet in the eastern Netherlands has been very dissimilar. Dependent on the character of the subsoil, but also, to a larger extent dependent on the movement of the ice sheet. Large floes were transported and deposited again undisturbed. Not far from these places, however, a very homogeneous mixing of the materials occurs. The local very great differences in thickness of the ground moraine remain remarkable.
