Problemen, mogelijkheden en doelstellingen van het pre-tertiaire macropalaeobotanisch onderzoek

The paper deals with the problems of the palaeobotanist studying pretertiary plant megafossils as compared with those of his colleague studying tertiary (and/or quaternary) remains. The possibilities for obtaining information are indicated as well as the methods used to get the optimal results. The aims of the palaeobotanist are explained, putting stress of the relative value of obtained results.
