Geologie rond Tilburg

This article descibes the complex geology around Tilburg in The Netherlands. In this region an interaction between two major faults and many smaller faults occurs. Next to this, the lithology and stratigraphical position of the individual layers is complex because of the alternation of marine and fluviatile members of the various formations. The article gives furthermore an insight in the possible interaction between the groundwater and the geology of the region. It is possible that certain phenomena in groundwater temperatures, local names or species of plants are related to the existence of faults.
