Until now the outermost north of the province Noord-Holland, with the exception of the island of Texel, was little known so far as lichens are concerned. In three short articles the situation in this part of die country will be recorded. An excursion was made to elms ( Ulmus procera) in the Anna Paulowna-polder. Ramalina lacera, which is on the Red List, was found. Other interesting species were Parmelia soredians, which is rapidly spreading over the country, and Lepraria rigidula, which covered a great part of an elm-tree. The find of Dimerella pineti was quite unexpected in these parts.
