Flora and vegetation of the attractive but man-made excursion site West of Amsterdam is described, with special reference to the habitat of the rare species Carex punctata. The author agrees with Weeda 29 that the Carex punctata localities do not belong to the Armerion maritimae, but rather to a mixture of the Trifolium fragifera-Agrostietum with the Schoenum nigricantis and the Centauriosaginetum. All localities in the Westpoort-area are (positively) influenced by recreation activities.
