In anticipation of the first man's stone cutting on our satellite, an idea is given of problems, efforts and first (provisional) results of the exploration of the moon. The first analyses of moon surface rocks, taken by the Surveyors V, VI and VII, are mentioned. The discussion about leading questions as: Is there magma differentiation on the moon?, exhibits the moon petrology resemblance with terrestrial or meteoritic rocks? has not come to the end, but amateurs of geology will be interested how things stand in science at present.
