Notes on the provenience of the lithic material of the prehistoric site at Sweikhuizen (comm. Schinnen, prov. Limburg). The present article was presented by the author on April 27th, 1969, as a paper at the International Symposium on Flint at Maastricht, Netherlands. It is based on about 10.000 artefacts found by the author since 1955 on a prehistoric site at Sweikhuizen (comm. of Schinnen) in the South of the Dutch province of Limburg. All objects were found on the surface. The site is located on a hill 95 m above sea level. About 40 m below it there is a northwesterly bend in the rivulet Geleen which comes from the South-East. The site has yielded artefacts from many prehistoric cultures, ranging from the Middle Paleolithic period up to Roman times. Many objects consist of erratic flint from Pleistocene gravel of the river Maas that emerges at the upper margin of the right bank of the rivulet. Several tools consist of flint from the flint mines at Ryckholt-St. Geertruid. There are also some artefacts made of Grèsquartzite de Wommerson and some consisting of flint from the Lousberg near Aix-la-Chapelle (Aachen), Germany. The work continues, including study of the typological aspects of the artefacts.
