This contribution concerns an investigation of fossil unicellulair microplankton in flints descended from Prehistorical flintmines into the 'Savelsbos' at Rijckholt municipality- Gronsveld- Limburg- Netherlands. These flints occur in the yellowish-white chalk wich belongs to the upper part of the Gulpenschalk, the Cr4 and international to the lowest Maastrichtien. A brief biography of Ehrenburg is given, he, however, discovered the microfossils in flints especially the spiny bodies he termed 'Xanthida' later called Hystrichospheres.' A simple classification is given. Further it has been impossible to distinguish the flints with the aid of the microfossils.
