This article concerns two unique silurian faunas in the Midland Valley of Scotland. In these localities jawless fishes (Agnathans), some arthropods and several problematic organisms have been found; these findings are described. Attention is paid to the ecology that might have prevailed. A number of interpretations of earlier writers have been mentioned.
