Some interesting finds in a Sambucus nigra thicket on the Wadden island of Texel are communicated. Leptodon smithii was recorded after 116 years of absence from the Netherlands. Neckera complanata occurring on Sambucus is something not known from other parts of the country. This moss seems to spread in the north-western part of the Netherlands in the last ten years. Zygodon viridissimus was recorded in fertile state, which is very uncommon in this country in the present century; in 1987 fertile Zygodon had likewise been found on Sambucus near Noordwijk (prov. of Zuid-Holland).
