An inventory was carried out of the epifytic lichens and bryophytes in the province Utrecht in the central parts of the Netherlands. In total 19660 records from 2489 sampling sites were collected. Comparison with similar records from 1984 showed that no major changes have happened since. The increase in nitrophytic species has continued at a lower speed. The decrease of species that are highly sensitive to SO2 has continued, especially in the western part of the province, where SO2 concentrations are high.
