During two one-day visits a short survey was carried out of the spider fauna of the peatbog reserve Fochteloerveen on the border of the provinces of Friesland and Drenthe. During the two visits to a single site within the reserve in the province Friesland, 63 species were collected. Three specimens of the uncommon species Synageles hilarulus (C. L. Koch) were found. Eight species new to the province of Friesland are recorded.
