For more than ten years the spider fauna of a costal dune area between Zandvoort and Noordwijk in the Netherlands is investigated with all available collecting methods. It is expected that the number of unique species (only one specimen collected) will decline when collecting continues, and the graph showing the correlation between the numbers of specimens caught and the number of species living in the area will level off. Of the 140 species found sofar 30 have been collected only by a single specimen.
