Een bladbadende Heggenmus Prunella modularis

On 24 July 2003 a Dunnock was observed foliage-bathing in the top of a wild cherry tree in a garden after a light shower. Jumping and flying the bird rubbed itself against the wet leaves, becoming wetter and wetter and vigorously preening. The previous three weeks it had been warm and dry with only some precipitation on 17 and 20 July. It is argued why the bird used leaves to bath whereas in an urban area there should be other water sources to take a bath.
