Raven Corvus corax in de Kop van Drenthe in 2012

Until 2011 only one pair of breeding Raven was recorded in the Province of Drenthe.lhis pair in SW-Drenthe was probably present since 1996 and bred for the first time successfully in 2004. Since that time in most years young fledged from this territory. In NW-Drenthe Ravens were observed since several years and in 2011a pair behaved suspicious and may have had a nest (that was not found). In 2012 five km from this the 2011-site a nest in a douglas fir was found from which three young fledged. Calculated from the fledging date, 19 May, the first egg must have been laid around 10 April.
