Project gaat tweede jaar in Nachtvlinders in het zonnetje

Further attention is given to the day-flying moths project which started in 1997. This year a larger group of butterfly and moth enthusiasts will be encouraged to participate in the project. The project focuses on eight distinct moth species. With the aid of an identification card and a calendar showing when and where the moths and their caterpillars may be seen, naturalists can collect useful information on the ecology and distribution of these species. The sightings and distribution in 1997 for three moth species, Pyrausta aurata, Tyria jacobaeae and Saturnia pavonia, are given.
