A Dutch naturalist who has settled in Hungary describes the butterfly fauna in Biikk National Park in Hungary. With its mountains, valleys, cultivated fields and meadows, the Park harbours a diverse number of butterfly species. Some are typical for Central Europe whilst others are rare in Hungary. The most common grassland butterflies sighted were the Violet Fritillary (Boloria dia). Marbled White (Melanargia galathea) and Mallow Skipper (Carcharodus alceae).
