The sp. is peculiar to Madagascar, where it is restricted to forest ponds at elevations above 900 m. Based on colour field photographs, both sexes (adult) are redescribed. The reproductive behaviour is characterized by scooping oviposition and by incidental multiple guarding. Some records of Crocothemis striata Lohmann are appended.
