Ervaringen met een agressieve Havik Accipiter gentilis

In 2010 a Goshawk nest was detected in the dunes of Noord-Holland from which chicks fledged. In 2011, this nest contained a clutch of 5 eggs; all chicks were ringed and fledged. Male and female of this nest were rather aggressive during ringing, but not yet physically attacking the climber. In 2012, the nest held two eggs and two chicks. Climbing the tree was aborted because of furious attacks by both parents; the female inflicted a wound on the upper arm of the climber. A new nest of this pair in 2013 was not climbed, but an attempt to climb the old nest in 2014 was not even considered given the livid and physical attacks of the female directed at the pole-mounted camera when the contents of the nest was being checked during the incubation stage (5 eggs).
