The slugs Milax gagates (Draparnaud) and Limax valentianus Férussac have been found in the village of Yerseke (Province of Zeeland). The first species, which earlier was recorded from only two other localities in the Netherlands, is common in the gardens of the village. Limax valentianus is recorded here for the first time from the Netherlands. In Yerseke it was found along the bank of a ditch on the terrain of a nursery-garden. The species is a native of the Iberian Peninsula but as a consequence of anthropochorous dispersal with decorative plants it is now widely spread in North and West Europe and in many other parts of the world.
