A new species of Nassarina Dali, 1889, N. thetys sp. nov., is described from the Brazilian seashore, based on shell and radula characters. In the Western Atlantic the species most similar to N. thetys is N. metabrunnea. The new species can be recognized by the comparatively large size of the shell, the spacing between the spiral lines that becomes increasingly wider and the spirals becoming more incrassate towards the aperture.
