In June 2001, during fieldwork for the Atlasproject Nederlandse Mollusken’, several living Paralaoma servilis (Shuttleworth, 1852) were discovered. This is the first record for the Netherlands. Frequently used synonyms for P. servilis are: Toltecia pusilla (Lowe, 1831); Pleuropunctum micropleuros (J. Paget, 1854) and Paralaoma caputspinulae (Reeve, 1852). The snails were found in a natural habitat, on branches and in leaf-litter, in dunes NW of the ‘Oostvoornse Meer’, in the island of Voorne-Putten, situated south of Rotterdam. A comparison is made with Punctum pygmaeum (Draparnaud, 1801) the only Dutch landsnail with somewhat similar features.
