There are plans to build a container terminal at the Kaloot in the province Zeeland of the Netherlands. The Kaloot is famous for its fossil shells and therefore there are many protests against this terminal. The author found a nearly gem specimen of Galeodea bicatena there in May 2001 at low tide. In the Brakman collection are seven other specimens of this species, all collected at the Kaloot before the second world war. None of these specimens are gem. So it is still worthwhile to save the Kaloot from the building of a terminal.
