Answering the questions as to wether a pointed artefact is a stabbing weapon and how it is used may solve the problems about the usage of Strombus artefacts by the Indians on the ABC-Islands. Versteeg & Rostain (1997) mention and depict Strombus artefacts in their book about excavations on the island of Aruba. These dagger-like objects are not rare. The collection of the Zoological Museum in Amsterdam has several pointed shell bases, collected by H.E. Coomans in 1959 on Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao.
