At a breeding site of a Hobby in a high-voltage pylon near Spijkenisse in 2015, observations indicated the use of a caching site on the tower. On 29 June, the male arrived without prey, but was subsequently seen plucking in the tower for some 45 minutes. This exact same location within the tower was visited by the female, from where she retrieved a prey on 18 July. Despite intensive observations of nesting Hobbies since 2011, no indications of caching had been obtained until the two sightings in 2015.
