15 jaar monitoring reptielen op Heidestein 2002-2017

15 years of reptile monitoring at Heidestein 2002-2017 The author presents the results of 15 years reptile monitoring of the transect Heidestein in the province of Utrecht. Heidestein is a dry heathland on which two species of reptiles are present: the Sand lizard and the Slow worm. The Slow worm is only found occasionally but the Sand lizard is abundant. The Viviparous lizard, known from historical records at Heidestein, has not been encountered since 1998. The trends at this transect mirrors the national trends: the Sand lizard is increasing and the Viviparous lizard is decreasing. In Nederland zijn voor het Meetprogramma Reptielen in 2017 op 240 trajecten maar liefst 10.885 reptielen waargenomen, waarvan 4.553 zandhagedissen. Een deel van deze zandhagedissen is waargenomen op het traject Heidestein op de Utrechtse heuvelrug. Al 15 jaar lang loopt de auteur hier een route en in dit artikel deelt hij graag zijn resultaten.
