On 24 May 2017, a bedraggled Honey-buzzard, possibly Eastern Honey-Buzzard Pernis (ptilorhynchus) orientalis, was recorded in the Balang Pass (4487 m) in Sichuan, Chinarey. The next morning, at least 75 Eastern Honey-Buzzards were recorded just north of the pass, apparently resuming migration after the inclement weather of the previous day(s).
