Hazelworm Anguis fragilis en Gevlekte akkerslak Deroceras reticulatum

A motionless Slow worm Anguis fragilis was photographed with a Netted field slug Deroceras reticulatum in its beak. The presumably intended meal was interrupted, perhaps due to defence by the slug or to the author’s disturbance of the Slow worm. Eventually, both the Slow worm and the Netted field slug survived.
