Sieralgen uit Snowdonia (Noord Wales)

Desmids from Snowdonia, North Wales, United Kingdom In early June 2024, during my vacation, I collected desmids from various locations while hiking through the beautiful landscape of Snowdonia. These included several small lakes (reservoirs), a waterfall, a flowing stream, and a wet, steep slope. In total, I encountered 200 taxa, many of which are particularly noteworthy. 17 species were found that are listed on the potential Red List of the UK in IUCN categories 1 or 2 (Brodie et al., 2007).
