A first survey of the freshwater molluscs of the nature reserve ‘Kop Bloksleat’ near Sneekermeer
Spirula , Volume 419 p. 40- 42
‘Kop Boksleat’ is a nature reserve adjacent to the south of lake Sneekermeer in the province of Friesland. A first survey of several ditches in ‘Kop Bloksleat’ yielded at least 20 species of freshwater molluscs. Noteworthy is the presence of a number of large colonies of the critically endangered Glutinose snail Myxas glutinosa. Several juvenile snails belonging to the genus Bithynia showed a shell with a very fine and dense spiral sculpture, a feature shown but not explicitly mentioned in the literature.
