Land snails in cleanings from a nest of the Black harvest ant Messor ebeninus in kibbutz Netzer Sereni, Israel

A sample of 333 g of organic cleanings from a nest of the Black harvest ant Messor ebeninus on an irrigated lawn in kibbutz Netzer Sereni, Israel, contained 3708 shells belonging to five different exotic species. Most commonly encountered were Cochlicella barbara (1753 mainly juvenile shells) and Gastrocopta rupicola (1503 shells).
