The Mountain bulin Ena montana (Draparnaud 1801) is not included in the current Dutch malacofauna. However, since 1966 finds of subfossil specimens emerged from five locations in the southernmost part of the Netherlands i.e., the south of the province of Limburg. Some specimens are several thousands of years old. Possibly living animals were still found in Maastricht some years before 1883, but the accuracy of the pertaining report by Casimir Ubaghs has been questioned. At present Ena montana lives just some tens of kilometers away from South Limburg in Germany and Belgium. Nevertheless the return of this species to the Netherlands in the near future seems unlikely.
