Iets over de Bolle duinslak Cernuella virgata in Harlingen, Friesland

Information concerning the presence of the exotic, naturalized Vineyard snail Cernuella virgata in Harlingen (province of Friesland) is given. At least one large colony of this species was present in the summer and autumn of 2021 in a plot with ruderal vegetation near the Waddensea dike. Other records of the species from Harlingen have to be confirmed with more certain observations. The conchological differences between Cernuella virgata and the related species Cernuella cisalpina are indicated.
