An interview with Pim Arntzen Jan Willem Arntzen (known as Pim) is currently the only scientist in the Netherlands, who has been working as a herpetologist for decades. He studied and obtained his PhD at the University of Amsterdam. After that he worked in the United Kingdom and Portugal. He has been working at Naturalis in Leiden for many years now. His field of research includes systematics, biogeography and evolution, with mostly European newts and toads being the study objects. His list of scientific publications now includes more than 200 articles. In this interview we talk about his career and work on the different amphibian species, hybrid zones of species, but also on his work on Paul Kammerer and his admiration for the work RAVON is doing.
