I have recently examined the paratypes of Gulella gouldi amaniensis Verdcourt, 1953, in my collection (No. 6159, 2 specimens, labelled ”AD” by the author from Mount Bomole, Amani, East Usambaras, Tanganyika; the two specimens from Mkusi in the West Usambaras (Coll. VENMANS No. 6160, labelled ”ADv” by Verdcourt); and the specimen, also from Mkusi (Coll. VENMANS NO. 6156, labelled ”X”). On comparing these with the description and figure of Gulella globulosa K. L. Pfeiffer, 1952, I came to the conclusion that I certainly had to do with the same species in each case.
