Recently large amounts of belemnite rostra from the Upper Cretaceous in the Dutch province of Limburg and adjacent areas were collected by the authors. The exact stratigraphic positions of these rostra were recorded. A short description is given of the rostra of seven species of Belemnitidae which occur in the Campanian and Maastrichtian of the Limburg Basin: Gonioteuthis quadrata, Belemnitella mucronata, Belemnitella langei, Belemnitella junior s.l., Belemnella lanceolata, Belemnella occidentalis, and Belemnella casimirovensis. The stratigraphic ranges of these species were determined. In Limburg rostra of Belemnella lanceolata seem to occur only reworked at the base of the Maastrichtian. Seven biozones are defined for the Campanian and Maastrichtian of the Limburg Basin, which are based on the stratigraphic ranges of the other six species of Belemnitidae. These bioznes for the Limburg area fit in with the international schema of belemnite zonation.
