In January 1995, a nestbox for Peregrines was installed at a height of 50 m on a power plant near Zwolle (52°31’N, 6°06’E). The building had been used by wintering Peregrines from the winter of 1994/95 onwards. The nestbox was used by Feral Pigeons Columba livia in 1995, raising 5 fledglings. In 1996, an Egyptian Goose Alopochen aegyptiacus took over the nestbox. Nine of 10 eggs hatched on 10 July, of which 8 goslings survived the 50 m deep jump. The goslings were led to the nearest water by both parents, and were still alive in September 1996.
