Results are presented of the first butterfly observations recorded in 1993. Due to the mild winter and spring many species were observed early In the season. Remarkably early observations were recorded for Polygonia c-album and Heteropterus morpheus. The cool and rainy summer months meant that other species appeared later than usual. This was true for Hesperia comma and Hipparchia statilinus. It has been decided not to continue this project as Interest Is running low. In 1994 the Dutch Butterfly Foundation will be starting a new project on the nationwide occurrence of the Orange tip.
