Result of investigation on upper cretacous limestones (biocalcarenit) in profils of river Maas valley between Visè and Maastricht, (Belgium, Netherlands) points to in-situ-carbonat solution after deposition of lower Oligocene sedimentary cover (subrosion). All facts emphasize value of 'Eluvial-theory' (autochthonous layer of residues of carbonate solution). Genesis of loam layers with flints widly spread in Southern Limburg and on northwestern margin of Rhenish shield are proved to be of postoligocene age, this against prevailing opinion in literature. Former existence and habit of a preologocene flinteluvium (Paleocene-Eocene, completly eroded by lower Oligocene transgression) in surrounding of Halembaye near Visè (Belg.) is reconstructed.
