La larve de Phaon camerunensis Sjöstedt, 1899 et notes biologiques sur l’imago dans les forêts du Gabon oriental (Zygoptera: Calopterygidae)

The larva is described, figured and briefly compared with that of P. iridipennis (Burm.). The main differences lie in the shape and the length of the caudal gills. While, in the Makokou area, iridipennis lives in large rivers, P. camerunensis inhabits small forest streams. The density of this sp. is low. During the wet season (March-June, Sept.-Dee.) only 4 territorial males were observed within a day along a 1 km stretch, while a single individual occurs at the same during the dry season. Some observations on the reproductive behaviour are presented and compared with the features recorded in Sapho and Umma.
