During a survey of plucking posts of a Sparrowhawk pair breeding in mixed forest in in northern Drenthe, on 28 June 2013, primaries of a plucked Swift were found. That very afternoon, Swifts and Barn Swallows were foraging at 4-5 m above ground level on a nearby heath. In previous years, Swifts had never figured as prey of Sparrowhawks in this region of the province of Drenthe.
