Philaeus chrysops was first encountered in 2004 in the Netherlands. In this paper, we present new sightings: one in 2014, two in 2017 and three in 2018. All observations were done by non-arachnologists that were curious about the identity and sent photos or specimens to arachnologists. All sightings concerned without much doubt imported individuals. The main introductory pathway seems to be the international plant trade, since one male was found in a garden centre and another one in a garden close to recently planted Quercus ilex trees.
