Specimens of the Little piddock Barnea parva (Pennant), an uncommon species in the Netherlands, are reported from a large lump of peat washed ashore on the beach of the isle of Terschelling. These include a large specimen measuring 40,5 x 17,7 mm. The species was accompanied by the White piddock Barnea candida (Linnaeus) and the Carpet shell Venerupis senegalensis (Gmelin).
