Coleophora spiraeella (Lepidoptera: Coleophoridae): a species new to the Dutch fauna. In August 2015, cases of a Coleophora species were found on Spiraea x vanhouttei in the garden of the first author (Kerkrade, province of Limburg). Later, the species was also discovered in Heerlen (Province of Limburg). Ten cases from Kerkrade were reared and on June 1, 2016 five moths of Coleophora spiraeella emerged. The caterpillars hibernate on twigs of the foodplant and the moths fly from March till June. The species is new for the Dutch fauna.
