Zygina nivea new for the Netherlands (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadellidae) In 2016, Zygina nivea (Mulsant & Rey) was discovered in the Netherlands. The occurrence of this cicada was expected because of its recent range expansion in Germany and its occurrence in England. This species usually lives on white poplar (Populus alba). However, the first recording of this species in the Netherlands is from a beech hedge (Fagus sylvatica); it probably concerned an autumn migrant.
