Water Boards are increasingly focusing on creating natural, wildlife-friendly banks or incorporating environmentally friendly bank management. Bank reinforcements are removed, slopes are made less steep and, in stages, the banks are cleared and mowed. Thanks to many volunteers, the biodiversity of natural banks can now be measured.
