On 22 April 2020, a 4th calender-year White-tailed eagle was observed and photographed in a colony of Cormorants in De Wieden, a wetland in the northern Netherlands. The bird visited at least two Cormorant nests from which one of more eggs were taken. The eggs were consumed on the spot. At one of these nests the Cormorant was seen to resume incubation after the eagle had left. The eagle was accompanied by two Carrion Crows.
