In the breeding season of 2020 a sunning adult female was observed near her nest, using a sunlit spot in a tree in a park near Wassenaar. She adopted the delta-wing posture, with wings and tail near-fully spread, back turned towards the sun but bill not opened. The sunspot was so small that part of her wings did not catch the sunlight. She remained in this posture for five minutes, leaving the nest (with small chick) unoccupied for almost ten minutes.
